Privacy Policy
How Libryva handles library, reading, and playback information - and why local-first means we collect almost nothing.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Libryva collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: Libryva is local-first, so your library, reading progress, and audiobook playback location stay on your device unless you explicitly choose a future cloud or sync feature.
1. Information stored on your device
Libryva stores app data in a local database on your device. Depending on the features you use, that data may include imported ebook or audiobook metadata, local file paths, cover art references, chapters, bookmarks, notes, playlists, playback position, reading progress, playback speed, listening statistics, sleep timer history, and app preferences. This information:
- Is not transmitted to us;
- Is not visible to other users;
- Can be removed at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its data.
2. Information we do not collect
Libryva does not require an account for its local-first experience and does not collect or sell:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number);
- Book titles, listening habits, reading progress, bookmarks, or library contents;
- Advertising or cross-app tracking identifiers.
If future sync, backup, or cloud features are introduced, they will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before those features transmit library or progress data.
3. Anonymous diagnostics
If the app offers optional crash reporting or anonymous usage statistics in a future build, you will be asked for consent before any diagnostic data leaves your device, and this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is collected. Declining will not limit functionality.
4. Website
This website is served as static files. We do not run tracking cookies or fingerprinting. If we later add privacy-respecting analytics, they will be disclosed here. Any newsletter or contact form, if introduced, will ask for your explicit consent and include an unsubscribe link in every message.
5. Third-party services
Metadata lookups may query third-party APIs to resolve book, audiobook, cover, or article information. These requests contain only the identifiers or URLs needed to resolve the item and are not associated with an account unless a future opt-in cloud feature requires one. Third parties are governed by their own privacy policies.
6. Children’s privacy
Libryva is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because accounts are not required.
7. Your rights
Because we do not maintain user databases, there is generally no personal data for us to export or delete. If you believe we hold personal information about you despite this policy, contact us and we will address it promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised “effective” date before they take effect.
